Alexander Weekend (March 25-27) celebrates the 10th anniversary of our 2001 event that first recognized the significant contributions made by the Alexander Construction Company to modernist residential architecture in Palm Springs.
The weekend includes the release of a 60-page tribute journal entitled The Alexanders: A Desert Legacy written by PSPF board member James Harlan. The journal includes many rare images from various archives and will surely grace coffee tables throughout the city for years to come.

Palm Springs Modernism Week 2011 includes many of the audience favorites such as the annual architecture symposium, the Architecture and Design film series in association with Design Onscreen, lectures, the vintage car show and other activities that will be held in various venues throughout the City of Palm Springs. Keep up with The Palm Springs Modernism Week i-Phone App available through iTunes, it’s free. The popular architecture tours which often sell-out will now be offered every day from Saturday the 19th thru Sunday the 27th due to popular demand, twice a day on weekends and once a day on week days. There will be several home tours, two of them organized by Modernism Week and others organized by neighborhood associations. |
